There were reports that the "Premam" actress Madonna Sebastian had been roped in to play the second female lead in Dhanush and Trisha Krishnan-starrer "Kodi". But the Malayalam actress has now refuted the reports.
Madonna Sebastian took to Facebook and wrote: "I woke up to friends enquiring on 'confirmed' reports of my next project in Tamil. Well, the only confirmation I can give is that I have no clue about this."
Earlier, Shamlee was signed to play the second female lead in "Kodi", in which Dhanush plays dual roles. She was supposed to romance the younger character played by the "Kolaveri Di" hitmaker, reports The Times of India.
The project was planned to start in October 2015, but was delayed by three months. This forced Shamlee, who is currently busy with "Veera Sivaji" and "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti," to opt out of "Kodi" as she could not allot fresh dates due to her other commitments. Moreover, the makers were in no position to further delay the flick due to Dhanush's other commitments.
Meanwhile, the shooting of "Kodi" is progressing at a brisk pace and it is expected to completed by the end of this month. A political-thriller written and directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, the Tamil movie has Santhosh Narayanan's music, Venkatesh's cinematography and Praveen KL's editing.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar plays an important role in "Kodi", and Subbu Panchu, Vinu Mohan and DMJ Rajasimhan are in the cast.
