Police have seized a truck carrying 24 tonne explosives on Indore-Ahmedabad route near Sardarpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports.
Two people including the driver have been arrested and 4,800 bags of ammonium nitrate have been recovered from the truck, reports said.
The truck was reportedly heading from Gujarat to Singrauli. The Dhar police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Dhar SP Rajesh Hingankar told The Times of India that he received a tip-off that a Singrauli-bound truck from Gujarat is carrying explosives, following which he led a team of police officers to Sardarpur area.
In a separate incidentin the state, 55 cartons of explosives, a detonator and containers filled with gelatin were seized in a raid conducted by the police in Chhatarpur district's Bamitha.
