Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene joined the Bollywood bandwagon by unveiling her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in London.
The actress with the heartwarming smile unveiled her life-sized wax figure, with her family and friends in attendance, at Madame Tussauds Museum in London on Friday.
Madhuri is the sixth Bollywood celebrity to be honoured at Madame Tussauds.
"I am thrilled to be here in Madame Tussauds unveiling a wax figure of myself. It's incredible just how detailed the figure is - they have captured my look beautifully! I feel very humbled to be included alongside other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes," said the excited Madhuri.
The museum authority revealed that Madhuri was completely involved in the creation of her figure, attending a sitting in Mumbai where sculptors captured a catalogue of reference photographs and hundreds of precise measurements to create this staggering likeness.
Madhuri also donated the exquisite saree that her wax-figure adorns. The figure took four months to create at a cost of £150,000.
"We know Bollywood fans will be delighted as we have been inundated with requests to make Madhuri's figure and hope they agree it is a wonderful likeness. With so many awards to her name and a career spanning over 25 years she undoubtedly deserves her place here at Madame Tussauds London," said the museum authority.
Besides Madhuri, life-sized wax figures of Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have already been unveiled.
