The first look of Madhuri Dixit's much hyped item number "Ghagra" from the film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" has been released on Wednesday, coinciding with her birthday.
Madhuri, who turned 46, is seen dancing alongside Ranbir Kapoor and both stars seem to be having a lot of fun throughout the song.
The makers of the film have released three stills of the song in which Madhuri looks breathtakingly beautiful. In a career that spanned over a decade in Bollywood, "Ghagra" is Madhuri's first item song.
Ranbir, who claims to be a hard core fan of Madhuri, said his dream to work with her was finally fulfilled.
"It was my dream come true to work with Madhuri. I have been a huge admirer of her. My heart was also broken when she got married. She is very unassuming on the sets. She is sincere, dedicated, hard working," Ranbir was quoted saying by Press Trust of India (PTI).
Through the item song Ranbir's character Bunny is introduced to the audience.
The audio of the song was released in the first week of May and its video is expected to be released in the course of the week.
Madhuri was roped in for the item song by Karan Johar, who is the producer of the "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
"Ghagra" is an ethereal song sung by Rehka Bharadwaj and Vishal Dadlani. Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned down the lyrics, while the score is composed by Pritam.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, "YJHD" is set to hit screens on 31 May. Apart from Ranbir, the film also stars his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, "Aashiqui 2" fame Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin.
The audience is desperately waiting for the video of the item song, to find out whether the "dhak dhak" actress has lived up to her title of dancing diva in the face of tough competition from other item queens like Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif among others.
