Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit continues to have a strong fan base worldwide and to prove it, hard-core Dixit admirers have named a star after her.
According to an Indian news agency, Indo-Asian News Service, thirteen members belonging to The Empress fan page showed up on the sets of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", where they gifted the dancing diva the star certificate from the Star Foundation.
"A celestial body in the sky above has been named in honour of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and is officially located in the constellation Orion," the certificate read.
Later, an elated Dixit took to her twitter page and even posted a snapshot of the certificate: "Wanted to thank my fans for the honour. They had a star in the Orion constellation named after me."
This isn't the first time that a person from the film industry has had a celestial body named after. "Teri Meri Kahaani" star Shahid Kapoor on his 31st birthday had a bunch of fans dedicating a star located in the same constellation.
Meanwhile, 45-year old Dixit, who's had over 70 films to her credit, continues to enthrall the public, with her fan base continuing to expand over the decades.
The "Dhak Dhak Girl" has the highest number of best actress Filmfare Award nominations and was even bestowed with the Padma Shri honour in 2008. She was also honoured with a Filmfare Special Award for her 25 year tenure in the film industry.
Since her relocation to Mumbai along with her husband Dr Shriram Nene and her two children in 2011, Dixit has taken up work more often in reality-based shows rather than on big-screen. She is currently a judge on the danced-based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
The actress has been roped in for a major role in Vishal Bhardwaj's "Dedh Ishqiya" and Anubhav Sinha's "Gulab Gang", AINS said.
