Mahipal Maderna, former Rajasthan Water Resources Minister, confessed to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday that he had close links with Bhanwari Devi, who went missing in September. The CBI will question him again on Friday on the case.
Bhanwari (36), an auxiliary nurse and midwife at a sub-centre in Jaliwada village, went missing on September 1. The investigating agency questioned the former minister today, a day ahead of the high court's hearing of the case filed by Bhanwari's husband Amarchand, who alleged that she was abducted at his behest.
Mahipal Maderna, the prime accused in the abduction and murder case of the nurse, was in the news recently over the alleged video CD which had him and Bhanwari in a compromising position. The controversy cost him his ministerial post!
