Ace Tollywood director SS Rajamouli recently released a series of making videos of his much-anticipated movie "Baahubali," which featured the first look of Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Dagguabati. The video, which was set in the form of a book, was first of its kind in the Indian Cinema. Taking a cue from him, Sudeep has created a similar making video for his upcoming directorial venture "Maanikya."
Starting a new trend in Sandalwood, the actor-turned-director released the making video of "Maanikya" 19 December. The 4-minute video begins with Sudeep's statement: "This film has been a wonderful experience. So here I am, wanting to share it with you. Join me in this journey, witness it part by part. Here is the 1st. Welcome to my world... Kichcha."
The video looks like a book and each page features behind-the-scene footage related to a technician's work and musician Arjun Janya's composition. The third page features art director Shivu Kumar busy erecting a set for the film, while the fourth page shows Shekhar Chandru's cinematography. Other pages also showcase the action direction and the work of other technical departments.
Though the idea may be similar to the making video of "Baahubali," but using his skills and experience, Sudeep has tried to be different from the original. Going a step ahead the multi-faceted star has planned to release four making videos, before the film's audio release. He says that the first one celebrates the technicians' work behind the screen.
"Technicians deserve all praises as all of them have put in super human effort working for the film. There will be a total of four videos that will be released before the film's release," The Times of India quoted Sudeep. "This making video is only about the technicians of the film. This is the first such making video of a film that celebrates the work of technicians exclusively."
"Maanikya" is a remake of Prabhas' Telugu movie "Mirchi" and director Sudeep has done some major changes in its Kannada version to suit the taste of local audience. Produced by MN Kumar, the film stars Sudeep, V Ravichandaran, Ramya Krishna, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sadhu Kokila, P Ravi Shankar, Avinash, Chitra Shenoy, Nagashekar and Shobharaj.
