Sivakarthikeyan and Hansika starrer "Maan Karate" started on a very good note in Tamil Nadu.
The film, which garnered decent reviews from critics', has received overwhelming response from audiences in theaters across the state.
The romantic, fantasy entertainer, which is being screened in around 650 screens worldwide has opened with a bang. The opening day report is expected to be Sivakarthikeyan's best collection ever.
The film directed by Thirukumaran witnessed 80 to 90 percent occupancy on day one in Chennai, while in the rest of the circuits the film received over 60 to 70 percent occupancy.
The morning and afternoon shows registered low occupancy, but its showed growth during the evening and night shows.
The pre-release buzz, good promotions, songs and audience review worked in the favour of the film.
Also, Sivakarthikeyan last two films were a hit at the box office, which also helped to pull the crowd.
"It is the best-ever opening for Sivakarthikeyan. The success of his last two movies made people look forward for Maan Karate. Adding to that the AR Murugadoss factor was one of the biggest reasons that worked in favour of the film," an industry insider told One India.
Meanwhile, on a positive note the film has got entertainment tax exemption, which will further help its box office collection.
