Girl groups are always going to be pitted against each other but there is certainly no rivalry where M.O are concerned as the singers admit having support from Little Mix and other female pop stars is super nice.
The British rnb group, consisting of trio Frankee Connolly, Nadine Samuels and Annie Ashcroft, have released their third single Preach and it has proved successful so far with the likes of former Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts and SBTV entrepreneur Jamal Edwards supporting the song via social media.
Britains Got Talent host Alesha Dixon, who used to be a member of female trio Mis-Teeq, even started the hashtag #girlgroupsrock to give the track that extra push.
Speaking to IBTimes UK at The Joint studios in London, M.O said they appreciated having their friends Little Mix and former members of successful girl groups in their corner.
Ashcroft admitted: Its so nice especially coming from the females because we love to empower other girls and bring them all together.
Obviously we dont want to exclude the guys, we love guys as well, but its super nice to have the female support.
Referring to Little Mix, Samuels added: Perrie [Edwards] and Leigh-Anne [Pinnock], theyve all been so supportive. Jesy [Nelson] commented on a photo of us the other day and said we all look amazing.
Its so good to have the support of other women, especially girls from other groups. Its so important that we all support each other.
The girls also shunned the misperception that there would be rivalry with other female pop stars, with Connolly asking: All the boy bands can get on together but why do they think girl groups cant get on together?
The girls are working on their debut album, which is expected to feature their previous singles For A Minute and Dance On My Own, and is set for release later this year.
Revealing what fans can expect from the record, Ashcroft said: It will be quite consistent because we always say you can get albums that are quite different but we will have quite a consistent sound from pop, rnb and maybe a bit of garage in there.
M.Os third single Preach is out now.
