Reliance Retail has a massive network offline to sell its LYF-branded smartphones and quarterly results show that the company sold over three million devices during July-September period. With an aim to make LYF one of the top three smartphone brands in India, the company is constantly adding new devices to lure buyers.
On Friday, Reliance Retail launched its all-new LYF F1, a special edition smartphone with future-ready tech. The new entry is different from the existing Earth, Water, Wind and Flame models, which is best suited for the evolving telecom industry.
LYF F1 comes with carrier aggregation (CA) support, which we have seen in Lenovo Z2 Plus. The new technology is designed to tap the full potential of Jio with improved data transfer rates and browsing experience.
"LYF F1 smartphone+ is designed to take full advantage of the future ready Jio network. It is unmatched in speed, quality and product experience. LYF F1 is available in stores across the country now. With LYF F1, we welcome you to get future ready," Sunil Dutt, president of devices at Reliance Retail, said in a statement.
The F1 smartphone is also equipped with Rich Communication Services, which include improved SIM-based messaging to share files, location and chat in groups and enhanced calling by adding location, image, urgency and customised message, the company said in a statement.
With these future-ready features, the F1 smartphone is fully equipped to challenge any budget premium smartphone. The handset comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, a 16MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, PDAF and an 8MP front snapper.
LYF F1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, which is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Like all other LYF smartphones, the F1 has dual SIM slots along with 4G LTE support. Under the hood, it has a 3,200mAh battery, and the CA support is also known to boost battery life of the smartphone to last a full day, according to the company.
Unlike most phones in its price range, the F1 lacks fingerprint scanner, but has other add-ons such as Smart Ring technology to trace the phone even when in silent mode and a built-in video player to view two videos simultaneously.
