Luis Suarez will be at Barcelona, tormenting the La Liga defenders, for another five years after the striker signed a new contract at the club. Suarez has been a huge success at the Camp Nou since signing from Liverpool in 2014.
With Barcelona looking to keep their MSN attacking line of Lionel Messi, Suarez and Neymar intact, the club have done well to lock the Uruguayan to a new long-term deal. Neymar signed a new contract in October.
Suarez's deal, like Neymar's, is also until 2021, with his release clause now set at a massive €200million.
"FC Barcelona announce that they have reached an agreement with Luis Suarez for the extension of the player's contract until 30 June 2021," Barcelona said in a statement.
The contract will be officially signed by Suarez on Friday, and the striker is over the moon at having extended his stay at the club.
"I am feeling overjoyed about being where I want to be," Suarez told the club's official website. "I feel very happy.
"It was the decision that we all wanted, both the club and me, we have a great relationship."
The 29-year-old Suarez sees himself being a Barcelona player even beyond 2021, with the former Ajax forward keen to end his career with the Spanish club.
"Any player would want to end their career at a club where they feel comfortable," Suarez added. "We'll have to see, but I will never lose either my ambition or my enthusiasm."
Suarez has been a big influence in the Barcelona team since joining, scoring 97 goals in 116 matches. during his time at the club, Barca have won eight trophies – two La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups, a Champions League crown, when Barcelona beat Juventus in 2015 with Suarez scoring the winner, a FIFA Club World Cup, a Spanish Super Cup and a European Super Cup.
