At least 82 children have fallen ill after consuming mid-day meal at a government primary school in Lucknow's Chinhat area, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, 2 September.
The condition of three of the students are said to be serious.
The children were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow after they complained of stomach ache.
District Magistrate Rajshekhar has reportedly asked the food safety department to collect food samples for lab testing.
"It is a matter of serious concern as this is the second case in recent days. We are ensuring the best possible treatment to the students and make sure that inquiry is done properly and action is taken accordingly in this case," The Times of India quoted the District Magistrate as saying.
In August, about 45 school children reportedly fell ill in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa region, after having mid-day meals.
