Love Wins! It's celebration time for gay rights activists in the US, as the Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage on Friday, 26 June.
"No longer may this liberty be denied," Justice Anthony M Kennedy said, as he announced the historic decision to legalise gay marriages in all 50 states of the country.
Following the ruling, social media platforms erupted with joyous messages with the hashtag #LoveWins and a rainbow-coloured heart, making it the most trending topic on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Even President Barack Obama expressed his joy by saying that it is a big step in the march towards equality.
Today is a big step in our march toward equality. Gay and lesbian couples now have the right to marry, just like anyone else. #LoveWins
