Damien Chazelle's modern musical, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling presumably is a front-runner for the Academy Award's best picture category. La La Land was also garnered acclaim for its music score by Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Winning just one LAFCA Award for the musical score, it emerged as the runner-up five times, coming in at second place for Best Picture, Best Director, Editing, Production Design, and Cinematography.
