And to prove that, popular celebrities like Lilly Allen, Chrissy Teigen, AnnaLynne McCord and Lorde have been exposing their supposed shortcomings on social media amid flawless Red Carpet looks and photoshoped magazine covers.
Chrissy Teigen: The Sports Illustrated super-model married to singer John Legend recently posted a picture of her bruised legs, wherein her stretch marks were also visible. "Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!"
Lily Allen: The English singer, songwriter and actress took her troubles to the internet, when she posted a close-up shot of her cheek covered in acne: "How is it fair that I get acne at 30 ? #1stworldproblems ."
Lorde: New Zealand singer and song writer posted a candid shot of herself wearing an acne cream on Instagram: "in bed in paris with my acne cream on".
Tavi Gevinson: The 19-year-old writer, actress and singer, named among the "25 Most Influential Teens of 2014", also posted a picture of her smeared with acne and captioned it, "highly recommend the new yayoi kusama they just installed on the upper west side of my face".
AnnaLynne McCord: The 90210 star has always been forthcoming about her struggle with looking picture-perfect at all times. She finally decided that she is over Hollywood's requirement of what is beauty and posted a no-makeup selfie, exposing all her pimples: "I woke up this morning and decided I'm over Hollywood's perfection requirement. To all my girls(and boys) who have ever been embarrassed by their skin! I salute you! I'm not perfect - and that's okay with me!"
