If you are a filmmaker, even an aspiring one, here is something you may want to hear. Canon has announced the Canon EOS C200 and Canon EOS C200B Digital Cinema Cameras, designed to cater to the needs of filmmakers. They are third generation cameras from Cinema EOS line.
Both Canon EOS C200 and Canon EOS C200B have two 4K video formats, Cinema RAW Light and MP4 for capturing HDR video. The duo also boasts of a newly developed dual DIGIC DV6 image processing system and Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF system.

"Building upon the success of our Cinema EOS system and taking into account feedback from users in the field, the new Canon EOS C200 and Canon EOS C200B Digital Cinema Cameras provide powerful and versatile solutions for production users eager to expand their creativity and explore the possibilities of HDR cinematography," said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO of Canon U.S.A., Inc. in a statement.
The Canon EOS C200 is a production-ready unit with accessories like an LM-V1 LCD Monitor, LA-V1 LCD Attachment, GR-V1 Camera Grip, and HDU-2 Handle Unit. It has a 1.77 million dot OLED Electronic View Finder (EVF). On the other hand, the Canon EOS C200B has the same camera as the EOS C200 but sans accessories and the EVF feature.

The digital cinema cameras have 8.85MP CMOS sensor along with a dual DIGIC DV6 image processing system for high definition videos. The Cinema RAW Light available in 4K 60p/50p at 10 bit and 30p/25p/24p at 12 bit enables users to record data internally to a CFastTM card. You can also export 4K in MP4 format on versatile SD media cards at 60/50/30/25/24P at 8 bit.
The cameras offer slow motion Full HD recording support at up to 120fps and the Innovative Focus Control feature helps in shooting 4K videos. Other features worth noting include over sampling HD processing, wide DR gamma, ISO 100-102400 sensitivity, ND Filter, ACESproxy Support, SD card, CFast card slots, support for Canon CINE-SERVO and EF Cinema lenses.
The EOS C200 is priced at $7499 and the C200B at $5999. The COMPACT-SERVO 70-200mm Zoom Lens announced alongside will be available separately for $5800. The camera and the accessories will be available in September.
Price and availability
The Canon EOS C200 comes with an estimated retail price of $7,499 (around Rs 4,83,385) and the Canon EOS C200B is priced at $5,999 (around Rs 3,86,695). The new cameras will be available for purchase in August.
