Ahead of the Winter session of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has written a letter to MPs, urging them to "behave decently".
"In every aspect of life, we expect decent and sober behaviour from each other," said Mahajan in the letter.
"As the speaker, can I expect from all of you that this highest symbol of democracy — the Lok Sabha — which is also the temple of democracy, all of us will behave according to the accepted decency, so that the prestige and uprightness of parliament remains intact," said the speaker in the letter, which was written in Hindi.
"Can I expect cooperation from you in this endeavour?" she asked.
The Winter session of Parliament starts on 26 November.
