With just a few days left for the release of Mohanlal starrer "Loham", reports had been doing rounds on social media platforms for the past couple of days that the censor copy of the Ranjith directorial was leaked. However, fans need not worry as the viral news has turned out to be a hoax.
Rumours had claimed that the pirated version of Mohanlal's "Loham" was leaked online a week before its theatrical release. Some social media users have even reportedly posted "Loham" screenshots, claiming that they are watching the censor copy.
However, it was later revealed that the screenshots were taken from "Loham" teaser. The screenshots were doctored using Photoshop by inserting censor copy watermark on them before being spread online.
Some reports say that the fake news is a result of the ongoing fan war as there are several Malayalam films slated for clash at the box office for Onam. These include Mammootty's "Utopiayile Rajavu", Prithviraj's "Double Barrel" and Kunchacko Boban's "Jamna Pyaari".
In July, three employees of Thiruvananthapuram Censor Board office were arrested in connection with the censor copy leak of Nivin Pauly's "Premam".
"Loham" teaser, which was released last week, has already received four-lakh-plus views on YouTube, assuring a box office hit for this Onam. The film, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, will release on Thursday, 20 August.
The film, with the catchy tag line "The Yellow Metal", revolves around the a taxi driver, Raju, (Mohanlal) and Jayanti (Andrea Jeremiah), who hires his taxi. The incidents that follow forms the crux of the story.
The cast also include Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Thesni Khan, Joju George, Gauri Nanda and Ashvin A Mathew. Stars like Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Pearly Maaney and Mani Kuttan will also be making guest appearances in the film.
