Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto's agent claims that Liverpool have shown an interest in signing his client.
The 21-year-old, who joined Villarreal from Argentine side Racing Club for an undisclosed fee last summer, has been very impressive since the move, scoring 18 goals from 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
And the Argentine's agent Jorge Cysterpiller claims that his client's excellent form has caught Liverpool's eye as well as a number of other sides including Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs.
"We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto. There is a lot of competition for him," Spanish paper AS quoted Cysterpiller as saying.
"He could sign for Liverpool, we know that he is admired by the Reds, as well as Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs. I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer."
It is believed that Villarreal are looking for a fee in the region of £12 million for the promising young striker, who has managed to net 11 goals in 23 La Liga appearances this season.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Argentine revealed that he will not hesitate a move to a bigger side if they come up with a "very good" offer.
"If these great teams come forward and make an offer we'll see. The offer would first have to be very good, but it would be very good for me and good for Villarreal," added the striker.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers praised Jordan Henderson's performances after the Reds' 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who is currently the captain of Liverpool in place of the injured Steven Gerrard, broke the deadlock against the Clarets with an excellent struck effort in the 29th minute, before providing an assist to help Daniel Sturridge seal the game in the early stages of the second half.
And Rodgers had nothing but praise for Henderson when he spoke in the post match conference.
"It was a great strike and that gave us greater confidence in the game and his ball for the second goal was terrific," said Rodgers.
"He has great technique and precision and it was a great finish by Daniel. He is improving all the time and as he matures even more tactically he will become even better.
"He has always had athleticism, he is born with a natural gift to run, and tactically he is improving all the time and his passing is improving and he is becoming one of the real leaders of this team."
