Sony has explained the three new playable characters for upcoming imaginative platformer game LittleBigPlanet 3 from developer Sumo Digital. The game was unveiled at the recent E3 2014 in Los Angeles, Calif. during the PlayStation press conference.
LittleBigPlanet 3 is third in the game of the franchise that brings back Sackboy. The game will allow players to customize new characters and will have unique features. The game will get three new characters - Swoop, Oddsock and Toggle.
"We've spent a long time working on the characters. Not just making sure that they look distinctive but also that they each offer unique gameplay. That, for me, is the big thing. We want people to go 'Wow, they really change up the game, and I can create totally new experiences with them'," said Pete Smith of XDev in a post on PlayStation blog.
He further said that the company was clear that the characters were "iconic from a silhouette point of view." So players will be immediately able to identify them and to make them look like they were a part of the Sackboy family.
Swoop - This was the first character that was developed. Swoop can not only fly but also can reach inaccessible places. He will also be able to pick up objects.
Oddsock – This is a four-legged character who can jump over the walls or can slide on them. One important feature of the character is that he is quick and unique.
Toggle – As the name suggests, players will be able to toggle between the bigger Toggle and smaller Toggle. The bigger Toggle will turn strong and heavy, and smaller Toggle is light and quick.
Similar to Sackboy, these characters too will be customizable and will get new costumes as collectibles.
It was also revealed that Sackboy will be getting a new climbing ability and power-ups like the Pumpinator.
The game will allow players to "explore a world filled with creativity as you explore all corners of the Imagisphere, meet the inhabitants of the mysterious planet Bunkum and face the nefarious Newton."
The game will be available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in November.
