After much speculations, Cruz Beckham, son of footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, has finally announced his first song, 'If every day was Christmas', via his social media page. Sharing a picture with the lyrics on a skateboard, the 11-year-old announced his debut with a song keeping the holiday season in mind.
His debut was much anticipated as Junior Beckham joined photo/video sharing platform Instagram, with the help of Scooter Braun Projects. Braun is known for helping celebrities like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. The decision of getting Braun on board was made after shortlisting numerous managers by the Beckham parents.
Cruz attained popularity when his cover of Justin Bieber's Home to Mama on Soundcloud became a hit after Victoria posted it on the musical platform. His popularity was further more evident when the star was followed by as many as 30,000 Instagram accounts within an hour of joining the platform.
The account, through numerous posts, dropped hints about his interest in music. Cruz's page has already posted two videos of him singing two popular songs – Cups by Anna Kendrick and Hopeful by Bars and Melody. Before his social media debut, Victoria had shared a video of her little one singing a Justin Bieber song during a studio recording session.
Sharing a picture of his son, David showed how proud he is of Cruz's debut into the music industry. The couple has three more children, Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, and five-year-old Harper. Victoria had previously admitted that she recognised her son's talent when he was singing in the car. "He's always the one that plays football, and he was just singing in the back of the car one day. And he was singing, and I was like, 'Wow, you can really sing.' And then he picked up his cups and off he went," she was quoted in a report by The Sun.
Meanwhile, we'll have to wait and watch if Cruz is on his way to becoming the next Justin Bieber. Until then, listen to his new single on Apple's iTunes, here.
