Confusions regarding the release dates of films appear to have become a norm these days. After Vikram's "I" and Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal", it is Rajinikanth's "Lingaa", which is facing uncertainty over its release date.
Buzz says that "Lingaa" might not release as per schedule and is likely to hit screens for Christmas. This means that Rajinikanth will now take on Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal" at the box office.
The shooting of "Lingaa" will be wrapped up today, 5 November in Dubai. A romantic track is presently being filmed on Rajinikanth and Sonakshi Sinha in Dubai and the completion of this song will drop the curtains on the shooting of the forthcoming Tamil movie.
Even the audio of "Lingaa", which was supposed to release on 9 November, has been pushed back and the makers now plan to release the music on 16 November.
Meanwhile, sources say that producer Rockline Venkatesh and KS Ravikumar want to release "Lingaa" for Rajinikanth's birthday. The delay in release will pit the movie against Aamir Khan's "PK" at the international circuits.
"Lingaa" is an action masala movie made on the lines of KS Ravikumar's previous movies "Padayappa" and "Muthu". The Tamil film has Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty in the female lead roles. Two-time Oscar Award winner AR Rahman has composed the music, Rathnavelu has handled the camera and Samjith is the editor of the movie.
On the other hand, Gautham Menon, who initially wanted his "Yennai Arindhaal" to be released in November, has his eyes on Christmas release. The team is working overtime to release the film by the end of this year.
"Yennai Arindhaal", which is produced by AM Rathnam, has Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan in the female lead roles. It is an action-thriller movie, which traces the journey of a man from the age 22 till 40. Harris Jayaraj is composing music with Dan Macarthur handling the cinematography department and Anthony taking the responsibility of the editing.
