Bollywood mommies Kajol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have finally zeroed down on a script to make their silver screen comeback. Both the actresses are coming back with action thriller films.
Ajay Devgn recently announced that his wife Kajol would make a comeback this year with an action thriller film produced under his banner. Her last appearance on the big screen was in Karan Johar's "We Are Family" released in 2010.
Fans wanted her to come back to the big screens post the birth of her son, but she decided to take care of her children. Finally, after a gap of four years, the actress has given a positive nod to a film. Kajol, who has majorly worked in romantic films, will be seen in a completely different avatar in the upcoming film.
The film is an adaptation of the Dutch TV series "Penoza" and the actress will be seen playing the role of a feisty widow. The story of the film revolves around a gangster's wife who decided to enter the world of crime to protect her children.
The news was confirmed by Deepak Dhar, who is co-producing the film. Dhar told Pune Mirror that they are adapting "Penoza" and Ram Madhvani will direct the film.
"Yes, we are adapting Penoza. Ram Madhvani is a wonderful director. We are looking forward to working with him," he said.
A source close to the development said that Kajol's comeback has to be a big one and hence the producers finalised to adapt the Dutch series.
"Kajol's comeback had to be a big and meaningful project. Hence both the producers took their time before zeroing down on Penoza," the source said.
Incidentally, Kajol's contemporary actress Bachchan is also making her comeback in an action thriller film "Jazbaa" directed by Sanjay Gupta. The film will go on floors next year and Bachchan bahu will be featured as a very strong female lead.
The "Devdas" actress and Gupta announced about their project during the Cannes Film Festival this year.
