Ahead of E3 2015, Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix have released a new trailer for episodic supernatural mystery Life Is Strange, highlighting (in a spoiler-free way) the three episodes released so far, and the acclaim that has been lavished on them.
Theres no news on when episode four will debut (though we suspect July). The trailer focuses purely on what has happened already ahead of the final two episodes to come later this year.
Life Is Strange tells the story of Max Caufield, an 18-year-old girl with all the problems of a teenager but the additional problems that come with being able to rewind time. Her power proves useful when shes drawn into a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a local girl by a long-lost friend.
We reviewed the first two episodes together, joining the chorus of praises being sung about the narrative-driven indie – praising its tone, characterisation and writing, but also how the time-travel mechanic gives a twist to the choices the player must make in the game.
Episode three – which we reviewed spoiler-free – culminates in one of the finest cliffhanger endings in a game that we can remember. We discussed what happened and what ramifications it might have in full detail in another article.
Life Is Strange episodes one, two and three are available on PS4, XB1, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 right now.
