South Korean consumer electronics giant LG on Monday released the much-awaited Optimus L5-II, the successor to the popular Optimus L5 mid-range smartphone series.

"The Optimus L5II will offer consumers another great option among devices in the premium 3G market," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"We believe that the Optimus L5II will prove to be irresistible to people looking for a feature-rich smartphone that complements their unique and individual styles."

The company claims that Optimus L5 II is endowed with new design elements such as seamless layout, laser cut contour, radiant rear design and smart LED lighting on the home button.

Optimus L5-II is enhanced with user-interface and a new feature called Quick Button, which helps users to customize a hotkey (short-cut) such as QuickMemo (note), camera, internet, or other apps.

The new smartphone will be available in four colour models - Indigo Black, White, Pink, and Titan.

According to company, Optimus L5-II will be initially launched in Brazil before making its way to South and Central America, Europe, Asia, Russia, Middle-East and Africa.

Popular tech website BGR India has claimed that the new LG Optimus L5-II smartphone is expected to make its debut in India by April.
