Consumer electronics major LG has launched a new smartphone dubbed as Band Play in home market South Korea.
The new Band Play is a mid-range smartphone and as the name would suggest, LG, targeting music aficionados, has equipped the phone with high-powered 1W load speakers. It also comes with bit 3 quad earphones seen in the flagship LG G4.
Another key aspect of LG Band Play is the laser auto focus, which is only seen in a handful of top-end smartphones in the market.
This unique laser AF feature measures the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam, enabling quick capture of good quality photos even under low-light conditions.
Other stipulated features include 5.0-inch HD display, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage (expandable) and 2300 mAh battery.
LG Band Play availability and price details:
The company has reportedly confirmed that the new LG Band Play will initially be released in South Korea for W394,800 (around $356/€318/₹22,680) later this week.
There is no word from LG on when the company will release the Band Play in other global markets. We will bring update on this as and when it develops.
