LG India has reportedly begun the process of upgrading the operating system (OS) of Optimus L7 to v4.1.2. Jelly Bean. The smartphone currently runs on Android v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Technology website AndroidOS.in said the Jelly Bean update will be available through OTA (Over-The-Air) in the coming days.
As of now, LG Optimus L7 (P705) owners can download v4.1.2 Jelly Bean (software version: P70520b-IND-XX) through LG PC suite on their computer and then transfer it to the smartphone.
Key enhancements of Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean update include:
- Smoother User-Interface, bi-directional text and more language support
- Faster Bluetooth data transfer
- Multi-Windows multitasking ability with enable and disable options.
- New options for customizing the notification panel.
- Two home screen modes.
- Google Now.
- Addition of features such as Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up play.
- Introduction of 'Smart Rotation' to enable the device to adjust screen display according to user's angle of sight.
