The high-priced flagship smartphone market is dominated by two main players, Samsung and Apple, but there are a lot of other worthy contenders that offer an equal appeal. Renowned brands like Sony, LG, Huawei and others have their own flagships that may not be as popular as iPhones or Galaxy smartphones but they have a lot to offer.
LG G5 is one of the anticipated flagships of 2016 and rumours with key details of the handset are already making headlines.
Rumours indicate that LG G5 will borrow best of LG G4 and LG V10 features. According to an unnamed source, G5 smartphone will also bring some of its own new features to take on the highly-competitive flagship market worldwide. The G5 smartphone will reportedly sport an all-metal body, 5.3-inch QHD display and a ticker display as seen in LG V10, Venture Beat reports.
If LG G5 gets the ticker display, it will be one of the major USPs. The function of the secondary display will be same as LG V10, which allows users access important apps such as calendar and contacts even when the main screen is off. The ticker display will remain on at all times without draining phone's battery. The secondary ticker display in the G5 will boast a lower screen resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels and appear at the top of the phone.

Another key highlight of the LG G5 is going to be its camera. Rumour has it that the G5 will feature a dual camera setup with 135-degree wide angle lens on the rear side, which will churn out 16 megapixels. On the front side, an 8MP snapper is expected to take charge of the selfies.
Finally, LG will introduce a new "Magic Slot" feature in its G5 flagship. This will allow owners to use their G5 as a partial modular phone. The magic slot will accommodate certain hardware expansions such as adding camera hardware to shoot 360 degrees photos or even adding a physical keyboard for seamless typing.
Other features expected to embrace the G5 include a much smaller 2,800mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. There is no reference to a microSD card slot and iris scanner in the latest report.
LG is expected to launch the G5 in the first quarter of 2016.
