LG G2 Mini Flagship Compact Smartphone to Hit Global Markets in April

South Korean technology giant, LG on Thursday announced that the company's compact variant of the flagship G2 smartphone would hit selected global markets next month.

"The compact G2 mini offers a combination of design, hardware and UX features previously unavailable in its class, making it a very attractive option for mid-tier markets," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

"With the G2 mini, our objective is to allow a much larger consumer base to be able to experience the key benefits of the G2 UX in a smaller form factor. And to that end, we're confident we've succeeded with the G2 mini." He added.

The LG's flagship compact phone will be initially launched in CIS (Commonwealth of Independent State) regions near Russia and followed by Europe, Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. The specific timeline of the release date as well as the price details are said to be announced locally in the coming weeks.

The new LG G2 Mini made its global debut last month at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014. It flaunts a 4.7-inch qHD (960x540p) screen and ships with the Android v4.4 KitKat OS, 1GB RAM, 8GB eMMC inbuilt storage (expandable), 2,440 mAh battery.

The phone also comes with smart-gesture control features like Knock Code (wherein the user can unlock phone by just tapping the screen using more than 86,000 recognizable combinations), Plug & Pop, Guest Mode, Clip Tray, Quick Window and more.
