The Indian arm of South Korean consumer giant LG has begun teasing the newly unveiled smartphone LG G2 on its official website, hinting that the company may soon release the new smartphone in the sub-continent.
LG India's official Facebook page read: "Learning from You, LG G2 Coming Soon". However, the details regarding its date of availability and the price are still under wraps.
LG has already launched LG G2 in its home country, South Korea, and also in US markets. The device is expected to get released in Europe by late September or early October.
The new LG G2 smartphone sports a 5.2-inch True-IPS LCD display with full HD 1920x1080p resolution having pixel density close to 424 ppi (pixels per inch). The screen comes with anti-scratch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield.
Under the hood, it boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor which can top a maximum CPU speed up to 2.26GHz. It houses Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB RAM and 16GB memory. (Also expected to come in 32GB model)
The new phone packs a 13.0-megapixel camera with LED flash support, OIS (Optical Image Stabilizations) and HDR (High Dynamic Range) features with the capability to recording full HD 1080p video at 60 fps speed. On the front side, it houses a 2.1-megapixel secondary camera.
LG G2 also comes pre-loaded with innovative user friendly features such as Answer Me, Plug & Pop, Text Link, QucikRemote, Slide Aside and Guest Mode.
A few features that makes LG G2 different from other high-end smartphones are its volume controllers and power button on the back-side, just below the camera.
Company claims that the 'Rear Key' concept came from a research study. It said that the larger the screen, users felt more difficult to access button on the side-rim. By re-locating the keys to back side, users would find it easier to get their index finger on the buttons and also lessen the chances of dropping the phone, said the report.
Going by the US and UK retail companies, one can expect the LG G2 to come with a price-tag ranging between ₹40,000 and ₹47,000 or more in India.
Apart from LG G2, Indian market will also see the launch of two high profile smartphones-one Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z1 next week.
