Consumer electronics giant LG has launched its flagship tablet PC, G Pad 8.3, in the company's home market, South Korea.
The new tablet sports an 8.3-inch full HD (1920x1200p) WUXGA display with pixel density of 271 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, out-of-the-box.
LG G Pad 8.3 packs a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU with 2GB RAM and 16GB eMMC memory. It also houses a 5.0-megapixel main camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
A noteworthy feature of the new LG device is an application called 'QPair', which enables the user to connect the tablet to multiple gadgets (Android Jelly Bean-based smartphones and tablets). Once connected, the app syncs missed calls and message details from the smartphone to the G Pad 8.3. Users can also send simple replies (only text) directly through the tablet, placing it in a league above its celebrity rivals, such as Apple, Samsung and 'Nexus 7' tablet maker Asus.
The new LG G Pad 8.3 (Wi-Fi only model) will go on sale in South Korea for 555,000 Won (around ₹32,000) next week. There is no word on whether the teh device would make its debut in India or not, but it is expected to roll out in around 30 select markets by the end of the year, reported Reuters.
