Indian arm of the consumer electronics major, LG has listed a mid-range 4G-LTE smartphone dubbed as F70 in the official website.
LG F70 originally made its debut in February 2014. It sports 4.5-inch WVGA (800 x 480p) screen and runs on the Android v4.4 KitKat OS powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor with 1GB RAM with 4GB inbuilt storage. Though the storage space looks very low for a upper mid-range device, it is compensated by the inclusion of microSD card slot, which allows users to expand the memory up to 32GB.
Other stipulated specifications of LG F70 include 5.0-megapixel camera (with CMOS AF, LED flash, 4 X zoom), 0.3-megapixel (VGA) snapper on the front for video-chatting, 2,440 mAh battery and on the connectivity front, it supports 4G-LTE network (five times faster than the current 3G Internet speed), single-SIM slot, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), NFC, A-GPS and micro-USB v2.0 (HS).
Competition
The company has just revealed the price of the LG F70 as ₹19,500, but the device's availability details are still kept under wraps. Once released, it will be up against the popular mid-range phones Motorola Moto G, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Sony Xperia ZR, HTC Desire 700 and local branded Octa-core smartphones - Micromax Canvas Knight A350, Canvas Gold 300, Intex Aqua Octa, Karbonn Octane Plus and others.
Besides F70, the company also sells another 4G-LTE smartphone LG G2 in India. It was released in March for ₹49,000 (non-LTE model retails for ₹46,000). It sports 5.2-inch True IPS LCD screen with full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolutions and ships with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS (KitKat update released), 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB (expandable up to 64GB).
It also packs 13.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash, OIS, HDR, full HD video recording and more), 2.1-megapixel front camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.
