South Korean consumer electronics giant LG on Sunday announced its first Optimus F series smartphone will be rolle out initially on Monday (29 April) in France and later in South and Central America, Asia and the common wealth of Independent States(CIS) over the next several weeks.
Commenting on the company's plans, CEO and president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, Dr Jong-Seok Park said, "LG has consistently set the standard in the mobile industry with technology that complements, not complicates, users' lives."
"The Optimus F5 is a natural extension of LG's lineup of strong LTE devices, offering the lightning-speed of 4G LTE and UX features of a premium phone. With the Optimus F5, we're confident we can capture an untapped market of new and upgrading smartphone users who crave a feature-rich, LTE device at a great price," he further said.
LG Optimus F5 sports 4.3-inch IPS display with pixel density close to 256 ppi. It runs on Android mobile OS v4.1.2 Jelly Bean powered by a Qualcomm based dual-core processor with 1.2Ghz CPU speed with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with options of expanding up to 32GB via microSD card.
The new Optimus F5 was earlier unveiled along with Optimus F7 at the international mobile trade show MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2013 in February.
