Lenovo announced on Monday that it will be dropping the price of its selfie camera smartphone, the Vibe S1, in India starting Tuesday, April 26. The mid-range smartphone was launched in India in November last year for Rs. 15,999, but it will now be available for Rs. 12,999, Rs. 2,000 cheaper than its current price of Rs. 14,999 on Amazon India.
Lenovo Vibe S1 will be available exclusively on Amazon India for its new price starting Tuesday. The Chinese smartphone giant did not mention if it is a limited period discount, but it appears to be a permanent price cut. Interested buyers can take advantage of this offer as it is the best discount the Vibe S1 has received so far.
For the price, the Vibe S1 certainly brings more value to the table considering its premium spec-sheet. The handset's biggest highlight is its dual selfie camera setup, which combines an 8MP sensor with BSI and f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP snapper to analyse the depth of field. There are built-in photo editing tools such as Selfie background blur, post-shot refocusing on subjects and intelligent background swap to cut out people.
Lenovo Vibe S1 also has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF, BSI sensor and dual LED flash. Other features include a 5-inch Full HD display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield on both front and rear panels, aluminium frame around the edges and a 2,420mAh battery for up to 12 hours of 3G/4G talktime, the company claims.
Under the hood, the Vibe S1 is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage up to 128GB. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it is expected to receive Android Marshmallow soon.
