Lenovo's K5 Note launch event was exciting as it is, but the company added more thrill by surprising us all with a new device launch. Lenovo's affordable Vibe K5 Plus, which was launched in India in March for Rs. 8,499, received an upgrade last week. The new Vibe K5 Plus now features 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB and the handset's price remains unchanged.
Lenovo announced that its upgraded Vibe K5 Plus with 3GB RAM will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting Wednesday, Aug. 3, midnight in an open sale without registrations. For the price, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is certainly a steal as it is combined with other premium specifications such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor.
"We continue to strive to incorporate a better technology aspect with every model we release from Lenovo," Sudhin Mathur, executive director of Lenovo's mobile business group, said in a statement. "The goal to provide the best of the technology at an affordable price is what the brand should be remembered and loved for. We are enhancing the successful K5 Plus further, staying ahead of market trends."
Other than upgraded RAM configuration, the rest of the specs are the same, which are good enough to make it a competitive device in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price range. Below are the key specifications of the Vibe K5 Plus:
Display: 5-inch Full HD display with 441ppi and 178-degree wide-view
Camera: 13MP primary camera with 5-piece lens and 5MP front snapper with f/2.8 aperture
Processor: 1.5GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 616 octa-core CPU
GPU: Adreno 405
RAM: 3GB
Storage: 16GB, expandable up to 128GB
Battery: 2,750mAh
Add-ons: Dual SIM, 4G LTE, Aluminium casing

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus easily competes against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Meizu M3 Note, Coolpad Note 3 Lite, Coolpad Plus and other Rs. 10,000 smartphones in India.
