Lenovo conducted its first flash sale for ZUK Z1 smartphone in India on Thursday and the device was sold out on day one. The company said that it sold 25,000 units of ZUK Z1 through the sale and received a total of 3 lakh registrations in the first two weeks. The handset is priced at Rs. 13,499.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 was launched in India on May 10 and has since garnered a lot of attention mainly due to its premium specifications offered at disruptive pricing. The handset is available exclusively on Amazon.in and sold via flash sales, for which registrations are mandatory. Those who missed the first sale of the ZUK Z1 can now register for the next sale on May 26.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 will be available once again on Amazon.in next week from 2 p.m. and the demand for the handset will determine how soon it will be sold out. Interested buyers must be quick to order the device when it becomes available again. Lenovo did not reveal how many units of the ZUK Z1 will be available for the next sale, but there might be at least 25,000 units replicating the first flash sale's inventory.
We have compared ZUK Z1's specifications with some of the best-selling devices in the market, including Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Samsung Galaxy J5 and Moto G4 Plus, and it turned out to be a challenging competitor. For the price, it offers a premium design with a metal frame and powerful specs.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 features a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with anti-fingerprint and display polariser coating and GFF whole-bonding process. The handset sports a 13MP primary camera with 1.2µm, dual-LED flash, OIS, Sony Exmor RS sensor, f/2.2 aperture and 5 physical lens, and an 8MP front camera with 1.4µm-pixel OV8865 sensor.
Under the hood, the ZUK Z1 features a 4,100mAh battery with fast-charging technology, which the company claims to fully charge the cell within 2.5 hours. The battery apparently last up to 38 hours on 4G talktime. Lenovo ZUK Z1 is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is backed by 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Finally, there is a fingerprint scanner integrated within the home button and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box. The handset comes in two colours — white and space grey — and supports dual 4G SIM cards.
