Top PC maker, Lenovo, has launched a budget tablet dubbed as S5000 in India.
Lenovo S5000 sports a 7.0-inch HD (1,280x800p) multi-point screen with 178-degree viewing angel feature and ships with the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the box.
Under the hood, it comes packed with 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor backed by 1GB RAM, 16GB eMMC storage and a high-capacity 3450 Li-Ion Polymer battery, which can run the device for eight hours of continuous Wi-Fi web browsing and users can also view HD videos for close to six hours on the stretch.
Competition:
Lenovo S5000 has been made exclusively available at Amazon India for ₹10,999.
Though Lenovo S5000 is almost a year late to enter Indian market, it still got enough ammo to compete with domestic brands. Only drawback is that it runs on the out-dated v4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
[Note: Lenovo S5000 made its global debut exactly a year ago at IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013]
It will be up against the recently launched - Asus Fonepad 7 (2014), Flipkart's Digiflip Pro series tablets, Micromax Funbook series and some MNC brands including Dell Venue (7 & 8) and Samsung Tab 3 slates.
