Micromax may have the advantage of home market, but Lenovo is not going down without a fight.
Amid several budget smartphone makers, Lenovo and Micromax come face-to-face with their best devices in the market. Here, we compare two feature-packed phones from the two companies so as to give a clearer picture of which smartphone is better.
Lenovo P70 is the latest entry into the company's budget smartphone portfolio and Micromax Yu Yureka is a well-received handset in the Indian market. Below is a comparison between the two handsets with regard to their specs and performance:
Design
Both smartphones have a unique design and make quite an appealing stand in the budget smartphone market. The Micromax smartphone has a simple curved edge design, while Lenovo P70 has sharp edges and flat aesthetic look. The small difference of 0.5 inches in the screen sizes is barely visible as both handsets look similar in size.
Camera
Micromax packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing Sony Exmor RS camera with Blue-lens architecuture, 5-physical element lens f/2.2 aperture, 75.4 degree wide-angle, full HD (1080p) resolution recording and LED flash. There's a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 71-degree angle lens.
In Lenovo P70, a 13-megapixel Sony CMOS camera embraces the rear side of the device accompanied by LED flash. Much like the Yu Yureka, P70 also packs a 5MP front snapper.
Under the hood
Both phones run on different processors. The Yu Yureka is powered by a 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, while the P70 runs on a 1.7GHz 64-bit Mediatek True8Core processor. Both handsets have 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage with expandable option via microSD card. In terms of OS, Yu Yureka runs on CyanogenMod Android 4.4.4 KitKat based CM11, while the Lenovo handset runs stock Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
Pros:
Lenovo P70
Lenovo has a greater battery life that outperforms Yu Yureka smartphone. A 4,000mAh Li-Polymer battery in the P70 competes with 2,500mAh Li-Polymer to give better end result. Lenovo also offers a simpler interface.
Micromax Yu Yureka
The Yureka smartphone offers a greater value at an affordable price.
Cons:
Lenovo P70
The handset is released only in China and there is no specific release date in the international market. Based on the currency conversion, the handset's price seems slightly higher than its rival for almost identical specifications.
