Update: Lenovo has confirmed the pricing and availability details for the Moto Z2 Play at the launch event. The handset will be available for Rs. 27, 999 and will be up for preorders on flipkart starting June 8 through June 14.
As part of the preorder offers, Lenovo will be giving away 50 percent discount on purchase of Moto Mods, besides an additional 100GB data offer on Reliance Jio SIM cards.

Lenovo is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone Moto Z2 Play on June 8 in India, following its recent global launch. The company will be live-streaming the event on the official Moto India channel via YouTube at 12pm IST today and you can catch all the action live.
Ahead of the scheduled launch, the company has introduced several pre-booking offers wherein the customer has to pay Rs. 2000 up front while placing the order and the due amount can be paid in instalments over 10 months with 0 percent interest. One can also avail the special bundle offers such as the Moto Armor Pack which serves as a protective accessory for your Moto Z2 Play.
Moto Mods are also available as part of the bundled offer when you purchase the Moto Z2 Play. However, there are no official pricing details yet.
Nevertheless, speculation is rife that the Z2 Play will be selling roughly around the same price as its US price of $499 or Rs. 32,200. The smartphone features connecting pins on its rear panel to support Moto Mods.
Some of the key expected features of the Moto Z2 Play include 5.5in full HD Super AMOLED display with 401ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The smartphone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with either 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage or 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, depending on the configuration chosen by the user.
Power hungry users may further expand the storage capacity to up to 2TB using the microSD slot. The Z2 Play also sports a 3.5mm jack and includes USB Type-C port.
On the camera front, the Moto Z2 Play flaunts a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and dual autofocus lens. Additionally, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front with dual LED CCT flash.
The smartphone draws its power from a 3,000mAh battery with support for turbo-charging technology via TurboPower charger. The handset is rated to get 50 percent battery charge in 30 minutes flat, using this new charging technology.
As part of the Moto Mods, Lenovo is also offering the Turbo Power pack which provides a 3490mAh additional battery power on board. The Power pack will cost an additional $79.99 (approx. Rs. 5,100).
The Z2 Play will be available in three colour variants: black, red and Blue and avid gamers might grab the Moto GamePad with support for all games that run with physical controllers. The Moto GamePpads can be purchased for around Rs. 5,150.
The Moto Z2 Play comes with water resistant nano-coating and equips a range of sensors on board including accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope and magnetometer.
