Chinese PC maker Lenovo has expanded its tablet portfolio in India with the launch of its Android-powered tablets - A1000, A3000 and S6000 - and Windows-powered ThinkPad Tablet 2 and the IdeaPad Lynx K3011.
"The tablet segment in India has shown significant growth in the last few quarters. As a true PC plus player, and as a part of our overall four screen strategy, we have launched five tablets at one go. We believe that our new family of tablets offers a suitable solution for every consumer. The offering is highly flexible to accommodate multiple needs and budgets," said Shailendra Katyal, Director, Consumer Business, Lenovo India told NDTV Gadgets.
Lenovo A1000
It sports 7 inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek 8317 processor with 1GB of RAM. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and packs 16GB of internal storage with support up to 32GB. Other specifications include Music Master with Dolby Audio dual speakers, SIM card support for voice calling and 3,500mAh battery which delivers up to 8 hours of WiFi browsing on a single battery charge. The device is priced at ₹ 8,999 and currently available in the country.
Lenovo A3000
The A3000 is a 7-inch tablet powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Lenovo has not revealed the details of its internal memory, but it has a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of storage. The tablet comes equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. Lenovo A3000 will be available for purchase with a price tag of ₹ 16,000 by the end of August.
Lenovo S6000
It boasts of a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor. This high-end tablet supports 3G, WiFi, micro HDMI port and an optional Bluetooth keyboard dock and is priced at ₹27,000. The tablet will also be available in HSPA+ version.
ThinkPad tablet2
ThinkPad tablet 2 sports 10.1-inch WXGA display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and is powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2760 processor. In terms of memory, this Windows-powered tablet comes with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device supports Stylus and is priced at ₹50,000.
IdeaPad Lynx K3011
This tablet comes with 11.6 inch display with resolution of 1368 x 768 pixels and is powered by the same dual-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8GHz.It supports 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The tablet measures 300.9x188x9.48mm and weighs 640 grams and comes equipped with 2-megapixel front camera. This hybrid tablet from Lenovo is priced at ₹51,990.
