Lenovo K6 Power sale date revealed; will be Flipkart exclusive

Several months after the official launch, Lenovo is finally bringing one of the budget K6 series smartphones to India. The company is widely teasing the upcoming launch of K6 Power, and now we know when and where the handset would go on sale.

In an official press statement, Lenovo India confirmed that the K6 Power will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The handset will also go on sale on the day of its release in New Delhi on November 29.

"We are glad to announce that we have exclusively partnered with Flipkart for the next launch in the popular K series, Lenovo K6 Power and hope to replicate our winning formula again," Sudhin Mathur, Lenovo MBG India's executive director, said in a press statement.

Flipkart had the perfect response to the announcement of K6 Power's exclusivity – a 51-second video capturing the excitement of its employees in a mannequin challenge. You can watch the video at the end of this article.

Mathur also added that Lenovo has grown to become the number one online smartphone brand in India. According to him, one out of four shoppers goes for a Lenovo or a Moto smartphone. Even with all the details at hand, the biggest mystery now is the price of the K6 Power in India.

Lenovo officially unveiled the all-new K6 series at the IFA 2016 in Berlin earlier this year. The new series comprises of Lenovo K6, K6 Note and K6 Power. Sadly, there is no word on the availability of the K6 or K6 Note, but there is a stronger hope that the company will bring them both to the Indian shores sooner than later.

As for the specs, the K6 Power is a budget premium smartphone and the biggest USP is its battery. The handset sports a 4,000mAh battery, a 5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, which is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. There is also a higher-end variant, which has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage onboard.

Lenovo K6 Power features a metal unibody, has a fingerprint scanner, supports 4G LTE and microSD card expansion. By the looks of it, the handset will go head-to-head with popular choices such as Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime.
