Consumer electronics trade show IFA 2016 is underway in Berlin and Lenovo has made its presence felt by launching a series of new devices. In the smartphone category, the Chinese tech giant launched three new devices -- Lenovo K6, K6 Note and K6 Power -- which will hit the markets starting September.
Lenovo's three smartphones come with premium yet mid-range specifications, but the pricing remains a complete mystery. The company is also yet to reveal which markets it will choose to launch its new devices next month.
As far as the specs and features are concerned, Lenovo has laid out the complete spec-sheet. All the three smartphones have metallic structures for a premium feel, run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, support dual SIM cards, fingerprint scanners and are powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipsets.
Lenovo K6 and K6 Power are mostly identical, except for their RAM, storage and battery. The K6 and K6 Power sport 5-inch Full HD displays, 13MP primary cameras with LED flash, 8MP front snappers and 4G LTE support. In terms of RAM and storage, the K6 has 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage options, whereas the K6 Power comes in two models, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Both phones have microSD card support.
Lenovo K6 Note is the most premium of the three and has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 16MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and an 8MP front snapper. The K6 Note also comes with 3GB and 4GB RAM options, both with 32GB expandable storage. Under the hood, it is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which completes the handset.
Given the specs, Lenovo's latest entries are not entirely new to the world, but the pricing will determine whether or not they are worthy of purchase. We have seen plenty of mid-range smartphones with identical specs, so consumers are being served with newer options to weigh their final choices before buying a new phone.
