After brands like Xiaomi, LeEco and other Chinese companies upped the game in the smartphone market, Lenovo has now made sure that it doesn't lag behind. Its premium budget smartphone, "Lenovo K5 Note", went on sale Thursday and the handset is already a success.
The weekend sales added Rs. 100 crore to the company's revenue, making "Lenovo K5 Note" the fastest smartphone to reach this milestone in end consumer sales, the company said in a statement on Monday. About 30 percent of the buyers also purchased TheaterMax accessories during the inaugural sale.
"Lenovo K5 Note" was launched with several offers exclusively on Flipkart. The handset, which comes with a choice of 3GB and 4GB RAM for Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 13,499 respectively, was bundled with 10 offers for the first 24 hours.
The launch offers included 10 per cent discount for SBI card holders, AntVR headset for just Rs. 499, TheaterMax gaming controller for Rs. 499, Amkette Controller for Rs. 1,499, free screen guard and back cover, free next-day delivery, Rs. 900-worth talk time and data for Idea subscribers at just Rs. 494, 200 PVR vouchers by Dolby for lucky customers, flat 25 percent off on purchase over Rs. 3,500 on Myntra and Rs. 100 off on Ola Prime.
However, Lenovo extended most of its offers even after the first day, which still made for a worthy purchase. Except for discount on TheaterMax gaming controller, Amkette Controller, free screen guard and back cover and free next-day delivery, all offers were intact throughout the weekend.
"Lenovo K5 Note" is still available with three offers, including 25 per cent off on Myntra, Idea's internet plan offer and Rs. 100 off on an Ola Prime Ride.
These offers just added more reasons for shoppers to buy the device, which itself is a worthy deal. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, full metal body, a 13MP primary camera with 5-pieces Composite Lens and PDAF, and an 8MP front snapper. It is powered by a 64-Bit, Octa Core 1.8 GHz Mediatek 6755 Processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and TheaterMax Technology support with Dolby Atmos Sound.
"Lenovo K5 Note" challenges best-selling smartphones like "Xiaomi Redmi Note 3," "LeEco Le 2," "Lenovo ZUK Z1," "Moto G4 Plus" and other sub-Rs. 15,000 smartphones. With its launch offers, Lenovo currently gains an edge over its rivals.
