Lenovo has established itself as a key player in the budget smartphone market. This year, the company launched five new budget smartphones in India under Rs 10,000.
The list includes Lenovo K3 Note, Lenovo A7000, Lenovo A6000, Lenovo A6000 Plus and A5000. Though only K3 Note and A7000 run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, Lenovo promised to roll out the Lollipop update for the rest of the models soon.
Despite running on different operating system versions, all the above mentioned phones come overlaid with Lenovo designed Vibe UI interface.
Here are six effective Vibe user interface (UI) tips and tricks for you:
Edit Home Screen
Although Lenovo Vibe UI interface skips the app drawer, it offers several handy ways to arrange your apps and widgets intelligently. For editing your home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the display and you'll see a setting menu appearing with several options like Edit, Theme Center, Wallpaper, Screen Manager, Homescreen settings and settings. These options allow you to edit the homescreen, change theme, add or delete screen and many more.

Move Apps and Create Folders
The edit menu allows you to edit the home screen as well as allows you to add any required widgets, move apps or get several apps together in a folder.
For moving any apps to another screen, just tap on it and the app will transfer to the bottom bar. Swipe to select the specific screen, where you want to move the app and click on the particular app's icon in the bottom bar.
If you want to group together several apps, select all of them by following the above mentioned procedure and pinch in to group together. The Vibe UI will automatically create a folder. For moving the folder to any particular screen, follow the same procedure we did for moving the apps.

Add new Home Screen
For adding a new home screen, pinch in on the home screen with two fingers. As a result, all the screens will appear in a tile. From here, you can delete or add a screen or make any other screen as home. For deleting any screen, tap on the top right cross and for setting any screen as home, just tap on the blue icon on the centre bottom.
Turn on Torch while the device is in locked mode
Vibe UI allows you to light up the back dual LED lights in emergency to act as a torch. For activating the torch, you don't have to wake the device. Pressing and hold the capacitive home button for around four seconds. The torch will remain on until you tap on the red bar on the top of the display.

Lock Apps on Home Screen
The Vibe UI allows you to close any app or all the apps together in a single tap. Click on the menu button to tile all the apps together on the screen. Each app window features a lock and a close button on the header. Tapping the close button will close the app and clicking on the lock icon will lock the app on the desktop. You can boost performance by cleaning apps. For that, tap on the brush icon at the bottom of the display.
Gestures to launch Apps
The Vibe UI also offers an array of gesture-based controls, which lets you launch any application you want even while your device is sleeping. For instance, if you draw C on the locked screen, the device will wake up and automatically open the camera app to take a photo. But for using these features, you need to set applications to the features.
Navigate to Settings>>Features>>Screen off gestures and find there are options to set any gesture to any particular app. Select the app and the corresponding gesture to activate. Now you can launch an app directly from the locked screen just by drawing that particular gesture.
