Chinese technology major, Lenovo has released the company's new smart fitness band Cardio Plus HX03W in India. It is available exclusively on Amazon India for Rs 1,999.
Lenovo Cardio Plus HX03W is compatible with both Apple iOS and Google's Android mobile OS platforms. I have been using Lenovo's new fitness tracker for close to a week and here's my take on it.
Design and build quality:
It comes with a really good silicone body with a smooth texture on top. I can feel the sturdiness when I tried to pull the strap. By the way, Lenovo Cardio Plus HX03W comes with detachable straps and it protects the USB pin attached to the main module.
This is a really creative design and I like it. Users have to pull the strap and connect the module to a laptop or computer to charge the Cardio-Plus HX03W.
On top, it comes with 0.96-inch OLED screen but the brightness is a bit dull to see the statistics in the direct sunlight. I had to take my wrist closer to my face to see the information. But, it's not a deal breaker as all the rival brands in the same budget price range have the same issues.
Under its belly, the company has incorporated heart rate, monitor. As far as the strap design is concerned, it's very ergonomic and comes with dual-pin on the one side and 15 oval shaped holes, offering good grip to strap on to the wrist for even people with small hands.
User-experience:
Lenovo Cardio Plus HX03W's interface is really easy to understand; it barely took me a few minutes to understand the basic features of the wristband. It comes with a clock, weather information in the form of smiley cloud image, sport, step count, heartbeat monitor, alarm and finds my phone.
For sake of accuracy, I tried comparing it with my Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular (review), the step counts, calories burnt and heartbeat details, on average showed similar readings.
It was very easy to easy to track active calories count and kilometres/miles on jogging. For detailed information such as sleep record including light sleep, deep sleep, wake up and average heart rate, the company has two apps—Lenovo Healthy and Lenovo Life. Both come with really simple and easy to understand interface.
Lenovo Life also offers an intuitive Discovery feature, which offers a guide in form of informative articles on how to improve fitness, healthy lifestyle choices to make. In Social, it lists health-related topics trending on social media platforms.
With these features, it slowly and steadily grows on to the user to make a healthier choice in terms of the food consumption and also develop a disciplined fitness regime.
Lenovo Cardio Plus, when paired with the phone, will also notify the user about the caller with number and name provided it is in the contact list and the SMS. It even displays the messages including WhatsApp except for the images and other multimedia content for obvious reasons.

Battery life:
I only charged once and have been using it for more than five days and while writing this review article, the app shows, Lenovo Cardio Plus H03X has still got more than 30 percent juice left. So, going by this rate, it can easily last a week for one full charge, that's really good for a smart fitness band.
Pros:
- Really good design
- Exceptional build quality
- Long lasting battery
Cons:
- The display could have been brighter but as I said earlier in the review, it's not a deal breaker. Other brands in this price segment have the same issue.
