Lenovo has launched three new budget smartphones in India ahead of Diwali, offering affordable gifting options to friends and family. The smartphones join the company's popular A Series and pack rich features to attract customers.
Lenovo A6600, A6600 Plus and A7700 continue the company's signature design strategy with mid-range specs. The cheapest smartphone of the trio, A6600, carries a price tag of Rs. 6,999 and the most premium, A7700, costs Rs. 8,540. The pricing of A6600 Plus is not known at the moment.
"The Lenovo A series is one of our star performers and last year, we sold a million plus units of A6000, A6000 Plus and A7000. Continuing the legacy, A6600 and A7700 offers brilliant performance with unparalleled user experience at a competitive price point," Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director of Lenovo India's mobile business group, said in a statement.
In terms of specifications, A6600 and A6600 Plus have identical features with the only difference being the RAM configuration. The A6600 sports 1GB RAM, while A6600 Plus pack 2GB RAM. Other features include a 5-inch HD display with 72 per cent screen to body ratio, an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, zero shutter delay and automatic face and scene detection, and a 2MP front snapper.
There's also a 16GB onboard storage on both devices with a microSD card slot to support additional storage up to 32GB. Lenovo A6600 and A6600 Plus are powered by the same 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz and a 2,300mAh battery.
On the other hand, Lenovo A7700 features a larger 5.5-inch HD display, an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, a 2MP front snapper and a 2,900mAh battery. Under the hood, there is a 1GHz quad-core processor, same as A6600 and A6600 Plus, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage.
All three smartphones have dual SIM support, 4G LTE, VoLTE and Android 6.0 Marshmallow in common. The handsets will be available in retail stores in white and black colour options starting mid-September. Due to the 4G LTE and VoLTE support, the three A Series smartphones will support Reliance Jio's welcome offer for unlimited data, calls and SMS until Dec. 31.
