Lenovo has finally rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its two most popular smartphones A6000 and A6000 Plus. Both the phones are identical in most of the specifications except RAM and storage. Both the smartphones run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box and will run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop after the OTA update.
If you own a A6000 or A6000 Plus, you just need to navigate to Settings>>About Phone and tap on the System Update option. The Android Lollipop file comes with a build number A6000-s_s028_1150827 with a whopping file size of 1092MB. So make sure your device battery has over 50% battery life.
After the update, users will be able to experience the material interface designed theme, multiple account support, several bug fixes including the all new notification system.
Ironically, few users have bombarded the Lenovo user community with complaints such as the rear camera not functioning, Google Play Store bugs or Whatsapp not working. So they wanted to go back to the earlier Kitkat 4.4.4 stable version. But we would recommend you not to downgrade the system, rather try the following steps:
- If you experience the Google Play Store error, kindly update all the apps installed in the system.
- If you are experiencing problems with the dialler or contact manage, kindly sync all your contacts in Google and then navigate to Settings>>App Management and clear all the data and cache in the Dialler and Contact option. Now sync your contacts through your Google account sync menu.
- If you experience any general bug, kindly restart the device in recovery mode. Before moving on ensure to take a backup of your device data. To navigate between the steps use the volume up/ down button and power button to select an option. Now choose the Wipe cache partition and wait for the things get done. Next select Wipe data/ factory reset menu. Once done reboot your A6000/A6000 Plus.
