Legends of Tomorrow is all set to return with season 4, but not without some changes. The characters of Nora Darhk (Courtney Ford), John Constantine (Matt Ryan), Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) have been made series regular.
This is exciting news because they are all very strong, unique personalities and aren't team players. What does this mean for the legends team? They'd have to stabilize their personal equations before they can take on enemies from the past or future.
Ford, however, seems excited at the idea of Constantine joining the team because he's sure to bring hell, given how he's hung up on his own issues.
"I think he's such a wild card. Everyone's really excited to see what happens when you put him with...anybody who's in the cast. What does he bring out? The flavor that he adds and the energy that he adds," Comicbook.com quoted the actress as saying.
So, will the makers explore a romantic angle between Darhk and Constantine, or will Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) be able to make his way in her heart?
While, that's a story for another time, Ryan is pretty enthused about his role on the show and how he's going to get the opportunity to explore the character (Constantine) further, now that he is a series regular, the Welsh actor told Digital Spy adding what he liked best in the previous season.
"The relationship between John and Sara Lance (Caity Lotz)... playing that dynamic in episode 3.10, when I first came on board, it was like, 'Oh my God, this really works!," he elaborated.
Legends ended season 3 with the defeat of Mallus and in doing so, the team has exposed themselves to threats that are supernatural in nature. This is where Constantine steps in. He may eventually agree to help them tackle demons and the magical creatures, but for now he's visibly upset with the team for being callous.
Legends of Tomorrow usually features in the crossover episodes planned by The CW, but this year the team is staying out of it. Apparently, the makers want to highlight better every character's timeline.
The show is scheduled to premiere on October 22.
