After Spanish sensation Enrique Iglesias wraps up his three-city tour, guitar legend Carlos Santana is also set to perform in the subcontinent this October.
The Mexican-American rock guitarist will first perform at Bhartiya City Rock in India Festival in Bangalore on Oct 26 and then at the Formula One Rocks concert at Galgotias University Greater Noida, Delhi, on Oct 28.
Formula One Rocks is a musical concert that happens during Formula 1 events across the world.
The Grammy award winning guitarist feels honoured to perform in the country that has taught him inspirational philosophy. The country has inspired the legendary guitarist in many ways.
"I feel inspired, grateful and honoured indeed (to perform in India). The west desires, while India aspires. Aspiration is when you want attraction; I have learned this philosophy from India. This is something we greatly need in the west," Santana told IANS in an e-mail interview.
This is the first time Santana is going to perform in front of Indian audiences. The 65-year-old is currently on a world tour.
Talking about his performance in India, Sanatana said, "It is a two-and-a-half-hour journey across collaborations. With an entourage size of 35, the performance will encompass and showcase a 'Greatest Hits Tour' for India."
The rock guitarist who became famous in the late 1960s and early 70s with his band, Santana, returned to commercial success with a collaborated single "Smooth" that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks. He was ranked 15 in Rolling Stone magazine's '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list.
Tickets for the Bangalore and Delhi shows are available at ₹2,500 and ₹3,500, respectively. The tickets can be brought through ticketing portal Ticketgenie.
