Legendary Tamil actress Manorama has been admitted in a private hospital in Chennai, following a chest pain.
The actress, who is popularly known as Aachi, was reportedly admitted to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road, Chennai, on Sunday (30 March). Manorama is said to have complained of chest pain following which she was hospitalised. Tests have been carried out and doctors have hinted that they might have to perform angioplasty for the actress, reported The New Indian Express.
Of late, the popular comedienne has been in and out of hospital. She was previously admitted in 2011 after sustaining heavy injuries on her head. Later in 2013, she was hospitalised for UTI and back problem.
Manorama is one of the finest actresses of south Indian cinema. She is known for her fantastic comic timing and versatile performances. In her career spanning more than five decades, the actress has starred in over 750 films. She reportedly holds the guiness world record for starring in most number of films.
Some of her notable films include "Thilana Mohanmbal", "Anbe Vaa", "Saraswathi Sabatham", "Ethir Neechal", "Samsaram Adhu Minsaram", "Guru Sishyan", "Chinna Gounder", "Chinna Thambi", "Annamalai" and "Saamy" among many others. She has aslo starred in other languages including Telugu and Malayalam.
Manorama is the only actress who has worked with four chief ministers of Tamil Nadu namely Annadurai, Karunanidhi, M G Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa.
She was last seen in Suriya starrer "Singam 2," which hit the screens in 2013.
